What do we check at each visit?
Blood pressure, weight and glucose on the spot. Depending on your condition, blood tests: A1C to learn your average sugar over the last 3 months, lipid panel, kidney and liver function. For diabetes we also check your feet and ask about symptoms such as blurred vision, tingling or wounds that are slow to heal.
How often should I come?
- Diabetes: A1C every 3 months until you reach your goal, then every 6 months
- High blood pressure: every 1 to 3 months while treatment is adjusted, then every 3 to 6 months
- Cholesterol: lipid panel every 6 to 12 months, or sooner if treatment changes
The medical team adapts the schedule to your case and gives it to you in writing.
Reference goals
For most adults: A1C below 7%, blood pressure below 130/80 and LDL cholesterol according to your risk level. These are guidelines; your doctor sets your goals based on your age and other conditions.
Getting started without insurance
The Complete General Checkup package includes a general blood panel, A1C, urinalysis and a medical consultation, and is a good starting point to know where you stand. After that, each follow-up is paid separately at self-pay pricing, and if your treatment changes we send the prescription electronically to your pharmacy before you leave.
Warning signs
Very high glucose with intense thirst and vomiting, very low glucose with confusion or fainting, blood pressure of 180/120 or higher, chest pain or trouble breathing: call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Bring every medicine bottle you use, even empty ones, plus any old lab reports on paper or on your phone. The medical team checks your blood pressure and sugar at the visit, reviews that history and decides which labs are worth repeating, so your follow-up picks up where it left off instead of starting over.
Only for some tests. A lipid panel or fasting glucose is more accurate if you arrive having had nothing but water since the night before, while an A1C doesn't need fasting. If you take insulin or diabetes pills, don't skip meals on your own; message us on WhatsApp first so we can tell you how to do it safely.
That happens a lot and doesn't mean you failed. The medical team looks at how and when you take each pill, what you eat, any other medicines and your recent [blood tests](/services/examenes-sangre), then adjusts the dose or switches to another option and tells you when to come back for your next reading.
